It’s that time of year again - Get ready for #ArthursDay2013!
Thursday 26th September
– mark it in your diaries! It’s been confirmed as the date for the 2013 Arthur’s Day celebrations, where some of the biggest names in the music world come and play very small and intimate sets in the countries pubs.
There will be 500 music events taking place all over the island just like last year. Nearly all 500 will be free admission and there will be 5 ticketed high profile events also. The Arthur's Day 2013 lineup was revealed earlier this week and we couldn't be happier with the artists! Who can we expect to see? Well there will be Irish groups and musicians ranging from The Script, music man James Vincent McMorrow, The Original Rudeboys, Girl Band and Bouts to reel people into the pubs, as well as internationally acclaimed artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Emeli Sandé, Janelle Monae and Bobby Womack.
Arthur's Day is expected to be a usual surprise fest, with acts anticipated to turn up unannounced to perform in pubs.
On Arthur's Day the Guinness Storehouse will also become a cultural hub as thousands swarm Dublin city to enjoy a showcase of established and up-and-coming talent in the music industry.
The ticketed events will take place in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Belfast and will cost €10.
Tickets for the event go on sale September 4th at 9am. Tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster.ie and outlets nationwide.
All Money rasied by the Arthurs Day event goes straight into the Arthur Guinness Projects which is funding creativity and ideas within Ireland.
